The lecture presents an overview of The Archive, the official publication of the Department of Linguistics, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, University of the Philippines Diliman. It traces its history and development, from a repository of (working) papers of the Department's graduate students in the 1920s until its transformation into a full-fledged peer-reviewed journal listed as one of the University's official journals. The lecture ends on some notes on challenges encountered and best practices undertaken specifically in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, to serve as guide for social science teachers who plan to get their manuscripts published, as well as for academic institutions who will embark on establishing their own publication in the future.
