Jalton Garces Taguibao is currently Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines-Diliman.
He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Philippines-Diliman and Masters in Public Management from the University of the Philippines-Manila. He served as a Teaching Associate from 1999-2002 before joining the Asia Pacific Studies Program (APS) at the University of the Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) as a Full time faculty member. From 2005-2010, he served as Full time faculty at the Department of Social Sciences (DSS) at the University of the Philippines-Manila. Prof. Taguibao was accepted as a full-time faculty member of the Department of Political Science in UP Diliman in 2010.
Apart from his engagements in the academe, Prof. Jalton Taguibao is a Research and Project Manager at the Affiliated Network for Social Accountability-East Asia and the Pacific. He also serves as policy consultant, lecturer, and trainer at the Development Academy of the Philippines, the National Commission for Culture and Arts, and the National Defense College of the Philippines.
Currently, Prof. Taguibao is a PhD Candidate in Political Science, writing his dissertation research on Renewable Energy Policy. He has also previously completed postgraduate courses at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil, and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany.
