Qualitative Research Methods in Political Science: Bridging Sessions

Semester:

Second Term

To my current and former research students (especially those who took the course during the 2nd Sem, AY 2019-2020, and 1st Sem, 2020-2021):

The past semesters have been very disruptive to the extent that elements of the course content were not thoroughly discussed during our sync sessions. Admittedly, I've had my fair share of shortcomings. But more importantly, I do not want students to feel shortchanged in the delivery of the course, given that most of you have already moved on enlisting in other higher research courses.

Given this, I will be conducting bridging sessions on "Qualitative Research Methods in Political Science: Data Collection and Data Analysis". The sessions are tentatively scheduled from 10:00am to 12:00 nn on the following dates: March 20, 27, and April 10.

My current students may also join to explore and be introduced to these specific subtopics.

Each bridging session is meant to be an open discussion about the ways of collecting qualitative data and the ways of analyzing them. Strategies and issues in collection and analysis will also be discussed. I would also want you to use these sessions as an opportunity to discuss/ask questions as to how you intend to apply these in developing your other research papers/proposal (particularly for those taking POLSC 199).

Offered:

2020 - 2021
