Jalton Garces Taguibao is Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Management at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines-Diliman.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Philippines-Diliman and Masters in Public Management from the University of the Philippines-Manila. He also completed postgraduate courses on research methodology and Quantitative Text Analysis (QTA) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany and Universidade de São Paulo in Brazil, respectively. He served as Teaching Associate at the Department of Political Science in UP Diliman, full-time faculty at the Asia Pacific Studies Program (APS) of the University of the Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), and full-time faculty at the Department of Social Sciences (DSS) at the University of the Philippines-Manila. 

Apart from his engagements in the academe, he is also involved in extension/NGO work, serving as the Research Manager at the Affiliated Network for Social Accountability-East Asia and the Pacific (ANSA-EAP), as policy consultant and lecturer at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA), and the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP).
