In 2018, the College of Arts and Letters' BAHAGINAN, through the Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts, with the support of UPD Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts, convened K(no|w)Body, conversations on performance praxis.

K(no|w)Body is a colloquium providing a forum to allow students and other researchers and practitioners to present emerging research, inspire conversations, and conduct theoretical and practical experiments in a collaborative environment. It features practical and theoretical presentations, workshops, lecture performances and other experimental formats addressing the themes and interests connected to performance (theatre, dance, movement) praxis.

Objects of (Un)Care: a choreographic-installation

This choreographic piece, entitled Dala-Ian (Carrying), was part of a bigger project of Teni Matian (Armenia) and Bryan Viray (Philippines) for a graduate course, Performance of Heritage. This piece was an attempt to ask, if caring about our own heritage is a responsibility or an obligation, or even a burden perhaps? Do we want to carry heritage objects, its value, a heritage which we may or may not care of? If yes, how would we want to carry it? If not, what will we carry then? Or do we not want to carry at all?

Different bodies and movement vocabularies converge to expose the weariness of cultural stereotypes. "Shades" is a multi-disciplinary dance theatre piece in an attempt to reveal our true colours underneath all those layers of shades.
