Dr. Kevin Carl P. Santos is an Associate Professor in the Educational Research and Evaluation Area of the College of Education in the University of the Philippines-Diliman. He is also a Senior Research Fellow of the Assessment, Curriculum, and Technology Research Centre, a partnership of UP and University of Melbourne Australia. Formerly, he was the Director for Graduate Studies and an Associate Professor of the School of Statistics in UP Diiliman. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Cognitive Diagnosis Modeling at the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong, from January 2018 - January 2019 right after finishing his PhD in Statistics in UP Diliman. His dissertation was about new approaches to person fit analysis in Cognitive Diagnosis Modeling under the supervision of Dr. Jimmy de la Torre and Dr. Erniel Barrios. He was a Visiting Research Scholar in the Graduate School of Education, Rutgers The State University of New Jersey, USA from August 2015 until August 2016. During his stay, he took classes on Item Response Theory and Cognitive Diagnosis Modeling under Dr. Jimmy de la Torre. He finished his M.S. Statistics and B.S. Statistics (Cum Laude) in 2011 and 2009, respectively, both from UP Diliman. In 2015, he received the Cochran-Hansen Prize for Survey Statisticians given by the International Association of Survey Statisticians and the Pearson’s Travel Award for the International Meeting of Psychometric Society. He is an active member of Psychometric Society and National Council on Measurement in Education. His research interests include cognitive diagnosis models, item response theory, sampling designs, and secondary analysis of large-scale assessment data.
