The concept for the book was born through cultural visits between the two Asian cities. Yuson notes "The initial visit by four vibrant Singaporean poets to Manila in January 2001 was reciprocated by six equally vibrant Filipino writers during the Singapore Writers' Festival in September…this anthology… opens up new opportunities to enhance mutual consciousness and appreciation for one another's diverse and rich culture." Filipino writers with poems in Love Gathers All include Jimmy Abad, Cesar Ruiz Aquino, Cirilo Bautista, Rofel Brion, Luis Cabalquinto, J.
