2017.06.05 - Gremlins win UPC 2017

One team from the Green Materials Laboratory participated and won in the 2017 Undergraduate Project Competition (UPC), besting 7 other finalist entries. The team of gremlins- composed of Aira Ayalin, Bernell Go and Gail Reyes- garnered First Place for their project entitled "Production of TAPE-gelatin as potential bioadhesive: characterization and drying kinetics ".  The UPC event started with a pre-final presentation and selection last May 29, where the finalists were chosen to make their final presentation on June 2. There was also a poster exhibit at the Melchor Hall 2F lobby last June 1-2, where the best posters were selected by the judges as well as by the public viewers (People's Choice).

The announcement and awarding of winners were held on the afternoon of June 2 at the P&G Room, Melchor Hall immediately following the final oral presentations. Aside from winning First Place, the team was also selected as Best Presentation.

Joining the winning gremlins is one finalist team from EEEI in Second Place and another DChE team (from the Fuels, Energy and Thernal Systems Laboratory) in Third Place. The Best Poster Exhibit voted by the judges is the finalist entry from DME while the People's Choice is the third DChE finalist (from the Laboratory of Electrochemical Engineering).
