The CHED Republica Awards (Outstanding Research and Publication Awards) are ``offered biennially to recognize and reward outstanding research that leads to significant advances in priority disciplines and contributes to national development goals."

Out of 70 entries coming from various universities in the country, our paper titled ``Intense terahertz emission from molecular beam epitaxy-grown GaAs/GaSb(001)" was qualified for the 2013 CHED Republica Awards.

There were 11 other qualifiers for the award. The formal ceremony was held at the CHED Auditorium last 20 May 2014.
